VSU quarterback Willie Copeland was named Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his 332 yard, five touchdown performance against Ouachita Baptist.- Senior Volleyball player Laura Lee Atkinson was named Offensive Player of the Week in the Gulf South Conference.

- VSU cross country runner Melissa Daugherty earned all-state honors in the Georgia Collegiate Championships, finishing fifth. The women’s team finished eighth overall while the men’s team finished seventh.

- Three VSU tennis players earned bids to the ITA National Championships by winning the ITA southern regional championships. Niko Overkemping and Joerg Ekkenga qualified in Doubles and Leos Jelinek in singles.

- The golf team tied for second this week at the AFLAC/Cougar invitational. The Blazer’s had a five-stoke lead coming into the final round but shot 11-over to tie Georgia College & State and Berry for second. Host team Columbus State won.
