A bill to extend parking times in Hopper Circle and the spaces by Brown Hall has been approved by Student Life and will soon go to the University Council. Soon to be implemented, the 20-minute parking spaces in Hopper Circle and the spaces by Brown Hall will be changed to 90-minute parking spaces. The timed spaces directly in front of the Union and next to Lowndes and Patterson Halls will be changed to 30-minute spaces.

The 20-minute spaces were originated for students to quickly run errands in and around Main Campus. However, the offices on main campus have been relocated. Now, many students are being fined for parking too long in the 20 minute spaces. In hopes to decrease illegal parking, and better suit the students’ needs, Senator Laura Rogers proposed this bill. Be on the lookout for this new change to take effect.
