The first action of the semester will take place on the hard wood as the men’s and women’s basketball teams continue their quest for the postseason tournaments. Both teams opened up GSC play on Saturday night against Alabama-Huntsville.
The baseball team takes the field for their season opener at Francis Marion in a double-header on Feb. 1 as they begin their campaign to repeat as GSC East Division champs. The softball team will play their season opener at home against Thomas.
The golf team will resume play on Feb. 16 at Matlock collegiate in their pursuit of the GSC tournament on April 20 where they finished in third place last season.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams will be back in action this February as both attempt to defend their GSC championships. The men made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament while the women made it to the Semifinals. Both teams will be looking to make deep runs in the GSC and NCAA tournaments this season as well.
As all of these team’s seasons get underway Blazer fans will have plenty to look forward to and with the Blazer tradition of success they should not disappoint on their quest for the ultimate prize. As far as Blazers athletics goes this spring should be a semester to look forward to.
