This week we headed to Masato Japanese steak and seafood on Baytree Road. Masato’s is like a hibachi grill without the show. It’s a little cheaper, but still good.
The resturant had a nice atmosphere. There was an Asian theme, of course, with a kimono and other things displayed around the restaurant. The atmosphere was also quiet and pleasant. Masato also has VSU specials, which is always a plus.
Ashley had the steak and chicken combination entrée. It started out with a small salad with a seafood sauce dressing. The salad was fresh and crisp and the dressing was amazing. The steak and chicken dish was served with vegetables and rice. The rice was ok, but she’d had better. The steak was cooked well, and so was the chicken. There was a nice seafood sauce to dip the meat in. For $10.50 plus $1.50 for a coke, Ashley got enough food for two meals.
Dana had the chicken and shrimp combo meal. She also got a small salad. Dana really enjoyed her meal. The only problem Dana had with her meal was that her shrimp was cold, but it was still enjoyable. Dana’s meal was only $7.99, which she felt was very reasonably priced.
A good thing about Masato is the wide price range. The least expensive item is $4.95 and the most expensive item is $24.95. We enjoyed Masato and we’re giving it four out of five stars.
———The Whole Story ———-
Who I am and what I do: My name is Ashley, I’m a junior journalism major and Opinions Editor for the Spectator. I’ve been writing for the Spectator for two years and am learning how much stories can affect the campus and beyond.
Why this story is important: Money is tight so you have to make every dollar count. Not knowing what a restaurant you’ve never been to is like can turn out bad. Spectator Tasters take the guesswork out of going to new restaurants and help you save your money for only the best places.
What I did to get this story: We went to the restaurant and had a meal. We took in every aspect from the atmosphere to the food.
