It brings me great pleasure that I can report, in my last “Pop Addict” column, that Backstreet’s back!
The Backstreet Boys were the victims of leaked music over the weekend when five of their unreleased demos appeared online.
As a Backstreet Boys fan, I was greatly pleased. They have been working with producers such as T-Pain and Wyclef, just to name a few, and the songs are good. My favorite would be “Fallen Angel,” and no, it’s not a remake of the Poison song.
Speaking of boy bands and vocal harmony groups of the 90’s, guess who is coming to Wild Adventures in two weeks? No, it’s not ‘N Sync.
Boyz II Men!
Nate, Wayna and Shaun (Michael left a few years ago for medical reasons) will perform at Wild Adventures for the second time. I’ve seen them twice already and if you were a fan of these guys, you should go see them. Nobody can hold down the harmonies like Boyz II Men, especially on “End of the Road” and “I’ll Make Love to You.”
From male bands to one totally smoking country girl, Taylor Swift surprised the students at the University of Kansas when she showed up to a Media and Society class.
Swift’s best friend Abigail is a freshman at the university.
Before the end of the class, text messages, tweets and Facebook statuses had been sent and more than 50 people were waiting outside the class to get a glimpse of the country singer.
Why doesn’t that happen here? Sure, we had Woody Harrelson, but back in 1996, Faith Hill performed at the P.E. Complex with her soon-to-be husband Tim McGraw and laid out on the front lawn to catch a tan.
Are there any “Gossip Girl” fans at VSU? On May 11, all the Upper East Siders are in for a big treat: a potential “Gossip Girl” spin-off and No Doubt on the hit CW show.
No Doubt will be on the show in an ‘80s flashback that could lead to a pre-”Gossip Girl” spin-off about Dan’s father Rufus and Serena’s mother Lily.
Brittany Snow, best known from the TV show “American Dreams” and the movie “John Tucker Must Die” is set to play a very young ‘80-ish Lily.
It’s been fun bringing my celebrity gossip to The Spectator. I want to thank Mr. Ted Geltner for suggesting it. Thanks to all who have sent me e-mails about my column, good or bad.
Next year, Kristal Jones will become your weekly pop addict. She’s like a younger version of me, but a little less teenybopperish.
If you would like to keep up with all of my celebrity gossip, check me out on Twitter @karahleigh or my new Web site, http://popvixen.com.
