Spectator Tasters

By Ashley George and Dana Littmann

This week we didn’t go far; we didn’t even go off-campus. We headed over to the University Center. At the far left of the food court we went to Sky Ranch Grille. Here they serve mostly chicken, burgers and fries. They have a pre-made lunch line or you can order chicken strips or different kinds of burgers and sides by filling out a form. We really liked the forms. It made ordering easier.
The atmosphere was below average. It was kind of reminiscent of a high school cafeteria. The actual dining area was good. It had big screens all around and small tables placed throughout.
The service was average. The food was a bit slow getting out but nothing unusual. The staff was polite, but nothing more.
Dana had a cheeseburger and regular fries. Dana really enjoyed the cheeseburger. The fries were a little soggy, but they were still good.  Overall, Dana enjoyed her meal and would eat there again.
Ashley had the cheeseburger and the Buffalo Ranch fries. The cheeseburger was good. It was cooked just right. The meat tasted fresh and the bread was soft. The fries tasted really good, nice and spicy, but you had to eat them fast before the ranch and hot sauce made them soggy.
If you have Blazer Bucks, this is a good place to go for a burger and some pretty awesome fries. If not, it might feel a bit expensive. Expect to spend between $5 and $7. We’re giving the Sky Ranch Grille three and a half out of five stars.
