Six Lady Blazers earn All-GSC academic honors

VALDOSTA, Ga. – After a stellar season by the Valdosta State Lady Blazers that saw the team finish atop the Gulf South Conference East the honors continue to roll in. Six Lady Blazers earned GSC winter academic honors.

Senior Michelle Thompson, second team All-GSC, was named to the GSC Winter All-Academic team. Not only did she make the team, but she carried a 3.88 grade point average, highest on the women’s team. In fact, Thompson’s GPA was the second highest of all 21 student-athletes named to the GSC All-Academic team. She will earn her degree in business finance.

In addition to Thompson’s honor, five other Lady Blazers were named to the GSC Winter Academic Honor Roll. Amanda Haven, Alli Jones, Leschelle Matthews, Logan Petrey and Jocelyn Danley all finished with GPAs higher than 3.0 with the highest at 3.86 and an average GPA of 3.33.

Jones, Petrey and Danley are all freshman while Haven is a sophomore. Mathews joins Thompson as representatives of the senior class.
