Superstar Valdosta singing contest coming soon

The 3rd Annual Superstar Valdosta will be hosted by the South Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross at the Mathis Auditorium at 7 p.m. March 24.

“The 3rd Annual Superstar Valdosta is a contest for all singers,” Taylor Asbury, a junior public relations major working with the South Georgia Chapter, said. “It gives them a chance to show us true potential and help disaster relief victims at the same time.”

The contest is for children ages 12 to 15, with a parent interview, and individuals ages 16 and up.
The superstar auditions were held March 3 at the Valdosta Mall from 1 to 5 p.m.

For those who just want to enjoy and support those in the contest, tickets are $20.
Tickets include a Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q dinner and a $500 drawing entry from Steel’s jewelry.
Crossroads will also be performing and providing musical entertainment during the intermission of the competition.

All funds will be going towards assisting the 11 counties this chapter of the Red Cross supports in disaster relief including Seminole, Decatur, Grady, Thomas, Brooks, Lowndes, Mitchell, Colquitt, Cook, Lanier, and Echols County.

This event is sponsored by the Valdosta Mall, Wild Adventures Theme Park, Steel’s Jewelry, and Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q.

You can obtain the tickets by calling (229) 242-7404, but the tickets will no longer be available for purchase after March 21.
