Zetas host Pink Out game to support breast cancer awareness

The women of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority are hosting their annual Pink Out event at the VSU football game on Oct. 26.

VSU students, faculty and staff are invited to join the sisters of ZTA in their fight to promote breast cancer awareness. ZTA hopes to “pink out” the bleachers by asking everyone to wear pink as they watch the VSU Blazers take on North Alabama.

“We have a Pink Out event for basketball, baseball and football, but the football one is by far my favorite,” Sarah Johnson, junior biology major, said. “Who doesn’t love football in the fall?”

For more information on breast cancer awareness or to make a donation, ZTA will have a table set up every Monday and Wednesday through the month of October between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“Cancer sucks in general, but a lot of women and even men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Don’t be a pest, and save some breasts,” Johnson said.

In addition to the Pink Out, ZTA has paired up with Yoplait yogurt to raise money and support by placing boxes across campus to collect yogurt lids.
