Ultimate Frisbee growing at VSU

written by: Victoria Johnson

With last semester marking their 10-year anniversary, the Ultimate Frisbee team has experienced an eventful year.

The team has accumulated an elaborate group of competitors in the past, including UGA, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and University of South Florida, to name a few.

Nick Collins, president of the Ultimate Frisbee team, has been a part of the team for two years and plans on staying until graduation.

“The biggest draw is that it’s a group of friends,” Collins said. “We’re not just playing a sport together; it’s a group of guys hanging and having a good time while doing something we love together.”

The players meet twice a week at Riley Field on north campus.

The team has an upcoming game in Tallahassee, Fla. Their competitors are Notre Dame and FSU.

“We’re actually really excited to compete against them,” Collins said. “Our team is looking forward to this competition and hope we do well this weekend.”

If interested in joining the team for next year, they will look for new members at the beginning of the fall semester.
