Cherie’s Picks Week of 09/16

Welcome back to another edition of Cherie’s Picks! I am so glad you decided to drop in. As usual, I have a list of upcoming events on campus with organizations that would love for you to accompany them! Without further ado, here are the events for the week of Sept. 16.

To start the week off, on Monday, Sept. 16 from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., Beta Alpha Psi is hosting “Resume and Interview Skills Workshop” in HSBA 3050. They are promoting a hands-on approach of resume crafting as well as teaching interview skills. Regardless of your end goal, come out to ensure you have the best tools possible.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., VSU-SHRM will be holding a general meeting “Society for Human Resource Management (VSU-SHRM)” in the Education Center room 1140. VSU-SHRM helps students transition from school onto their careers. For more information, feel free to stop by this informational meeting.

Now on to Wednesday, Sept. 18 during the day, Valdosta Data Analytics Student Association is hosting an “DASA Scavenger Hunt” throughout North Campus. DASA invites you to come out to North Campus and see what it has to offer. What better way to do that than with a fun scavenger hunt?

On Thursday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. the Office of Health and Wellness is hosting “Arrive Alive DUI Simulator” on Converse Square. UNITE’s Arrive Alive Tour will be using a high-tech simulator, video and other resources to educate and teach the importance of not driving while impaired.

Free Saturday, Sept. 21 afternoon? From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Replenished Women is hosting “Campus Clean Up” of Main Campus. These ladies plan to clean our entire main campus, and I encourage you to join! The event will earn you three service hours and make VSU look reputable.

This brings us to the end of this week. I hope you enjoyed it and perhaps have the chance to stop by one of these events. Be sure to stop by Cherie’s Corner each Saturday to explore the upcoming events on campus. Thank you for checking out Cherie’s Picks, and I’ll see you next week!
