CAB’s comedy show a success

Last night’s VSU CAB comedy show was a success thanks to famous comedian and host Lil’ Duval, opening act Bflat, and headliner Gary Owen. CAB committees such as comedy/coffeehouse, late night, special events, and the VSU SGA came together donating $20,000 in order to bring the comics to campus.
Everyone seemed to feel host Lil’ Duval was perfect for the job after his jokes on what the urban community views girls who considered themselves “Barbies” or achieving perfect beauty.
“Basic Ass Ridiculous Bi***es Imitating Everybody’s Swag”, said Duval.
The crowd laughed hysterically as the comedians told their jokes. Duval seemed to have gotten most of his jokes from the audience members feeding off those with bad hair, Greek Fraternities/Sororities, and sexual relationships.
“So far the comedy show is very entertaining and I hope they come back next year,” said freshman Darius Carter.
Though many of the jokes may have been what some people consider dirty, they were both entertaining and truly depicted the lives of VSU student’s sexual lives.
Many of the VSU CAB members seemed to be pleased with the success of the event.
“I am glad everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and we actually had enough seats to occupy the audience,” said director of CAB comedy/coffeehouse Tatiana Lee.
Headliner Gary Owen seemed to enjoy his time at VSU staying around to sell DVDs, take pictures, as well as interact with the crowd.
“I plan to come back to VSU as long as I am invited…I fed off the audience reaction,” said Owens.
Owens continued to speak on the fact that he would have liked the audience to speak more on what they wanted him to talk about and more of a reaction to his personal attacks.
The show sold out 100 tickets over a span of three days. With success like this, there are high expectations for next year’s comedy show.
