No. 3 Blazers off to hot start

The basketball season is in full swing. The Blazers are hot, while the Lady Blazers are struggling to put together a complete game.
Lady Blazers: Since Nov. 19, the Lady Blazers have recorded a record of 1-3 (not including Wednesday night’s contest). The Lady Blazers got started off right with a win over Eckerd; however the Lady Blazers hit the road and they failed to win a game. The Lady Blazers lost the three road games by a combined 14 points Once again, this does not include Wednesday’s game. Alli Jones stepped up and scored 28 points in two games as she earned a starting spot for the Lady Blazers.
As we look ahead for the Lady Blazers, from Thursday through winter break, the Lady Blazers will hit the road three times and will hit the floor at the Complex four times. The Lady Blazers will host Albany State on Dec 5, Columbus State on the 8, Delta State on the 15 and Nova Southeastern on the 30. The Lady Blazers will participate in the District of Columbia Classic in Washington D.C. on the 19 and 20 when they face Shaw and the District of Columbia. The Lady Blazers will also hit the road to take on Albany State on Dec 31.
Blazers: The third ranked team in the nation has been playing just that way. The Blazers recorded an impressive 5-0 record since Nov. 19 which included an 88-87 win over Clayton State University. The Blazers will be busy over the break as they host Saint Leo and Palm Beach Atlantic as part of the Loop Pizza Grill Classic at Valdosta State University on the 4 and 5 of Dec. The Blazers will then host Columbus State on the 7th before hitting the road to take on Tampa on the 12. The Blazers return to the Complex to take on Delta State on the 15 before starting their longest road trip of the season as they head to Boca Raton, Fla. for the Pepsi Doubletree Classic.
The Blazers will take on Lynn and Barry as part of that tournament. The Blazers will finish 2009 on December 31st when they take on Albany State.
