The Lady Blazers softball team moved to 6-0 after taking down Georgia Southwestern, 3-1, 5-0 in their two games to start the season on Tuesday. An unpredictable double play was the result of game one ending, while in game two, the Lady Blazers’ defense started strong and the offense upped the score with runs. During the opening game, Ashley Steinhilber, Morgan Johnson and Sarah Vaughn were one for two, with Steinhilber scoring one run and Vaughn with an RBI. Colette Rollins was one for three with an RBI. In game two, Steinhilber scored three runs while Johnson racked three RBIs and a run. Another key player was Marti Littlefield, who went two for four with an RBI. April Hutchens and Natalia Morozova also went one for two.
Next up: VSU is scheduled to play West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. at 5 p.m. Saturday.
