Blazer golfers finish at 16th in Bobcat Invitational

 VSU shot a final round 309 to finish 16th at the Bobcat Invitational with a 71-over 911 at the par-70, 6,730 yard Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee Tuesday.

 Lynn claimed the team championship as it shot a 14-over 854 followed by Barry and West Florida tied for second at 855.   Host Georgia College was fourth at 860 and Armstrong Atlantic tallied a 23-over 863 to finish fifth.

 Nova Southeastern was a shot behind in sixth followed by Columbus State (869) and UNC Pembroke and North Alabama tied for eighth at 870. Belmont Abbey rounded out the top 10 with an 878.

 USC-Aiken was 11th at 883 and Lander 12th with an 895 while Florida Southern (899), Rollins (901) and Carson-Newman (904). Clayton State rounded out the field with a 922.

 Abdul Sihag shot a three round 221 to tie for 38th while Austin Graham tied for 68th with a 230.

 Clarke Hendrick was three strokes behind and tied for 79th while Evan Hanna tallied a 235 to tie for 82nd.

 Drew McGuire rounded out the Blazer squad with a 236 to stand 84th.

 Will Repko played as an individual in the tournament and tied for 52nd with a 225 while West Florida’s Otto Bonning claimed individual medalist honors with
a three-under 207.

 The Blazers return to action April 4 when they begin play in the Buccaneer Invitational in Miami Shores, Fla.
