Valdosta welcomes new Mexican restaurant

The Green Iguana restaurant opened six weeks ago in Valdosta by the owner and manager, Javier Quiroz.

I recently had the opportunity to dine for lunch at this Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasing because it was casual and relaxing. There are a lot of toy iguanas around to signify the name of the restaurant.

The service was very good and the waitress provided great customer service. My waitress was really helpful when she recommended certain food options for me when she became aware that this was my first time eating at the restaurant

I selected the chicken chipotle, which was chicken breast served with chipotle sauce, rice and beans. The food was served hot and was very appetizing. The food was priced very reasonably, with my entrée costing around ten dollars. If you like original Mexican food, this is the place to go. They serve authentic Mexican dishes as well as many grilled foods. The menu provides many entrée choices including fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, appetizers, desserts and a variety of drinks.

In the future, the restaurant will begin offering” VSU student and Military discounts, with 10% off with student/military identification,” Quiroz said.

The restaurant is located near Blanton Commons, at 515 N. St Augustine Rd. Valdosta GA 31601. Phone numbers 229-245-8264 or 229-563-7770. The operating hours are Monday to Thursday 11a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday to Saturday 11a.m. to 11p.m. and Sunday 11a.m. to 9p.m.
