Blazers united against Union

As the season goes on, the Valdosta State volleyball team continues its run as they defeat West Alabama. With a score of 3-1, the Blazers are rallying for a spectacular season as they prepare for their upcoming matches.

Union continues to struggle as the season goes on with another defeat to Shorter University losing 2-3 and making their overall record 3-6.  The next opponent they face is the University of North Alabama Lions, but their record of 9-2 can be daunting.

Krista Bradford, the Senior Libero of the Blazers, seems confident in their preparation.

“We prepare by having tough practices and working on our weaknesses, “said Bradford. “The team works together on practicing and takes time out after practice to work as well.”

Strategy is the key factor that will determine if they will win or lose this next match. “Our strategy is plays that run, but our main strategy is to play consistent,” said Bradford.

Although Union will provide pressure, the Blazers are not focused on who they are playing, but clean volleyball on our side. “We have to play at a high level at all times and minimize force areas,” said Bradford.

Mike Swan, head volleyball coach, knows his team is prepared for October 2. “Our girls battle even when not playing at optimal level, “said Swan.
