VSU Football Stumbles in Albany

VSU had a less than memorable kick off to the 2017 football season as they fell 29-12 in Albany.

The Blazers faced Albany State  in non-conference play for the fourth consecutive season opener. VSU suffered early with the Golden Rams getting an early pick six on the Blazers’ first possession.

VSU continued to face adversity throughout the night and went into the half down 10-0. It became clear that there was still uncertainty in the quarterback position as Adam Robles and Rogan Wells traded possessions throughout the game.

As the second half progressed, VSU managed to score two touchdowns but failed to convert both two-point conversions.

VSU will travel to Waycross, Georgia to play in the second annual Okefenokee Classic on Sept. 9 where the Blazers will face Fort Valley State University.
