VSU soccer opener at Florida Southern postponed

The Valdosta State’s women’s soccer season-opened has been postponed due to Hurricane Dorian. The game was set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, and no make-up date has been announced.

The new season-opener is now a home game against Clayton State on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Athletic Fieldhouse Soccer Field.

The Blazers tied with Lee and West Alabama in the conference standings last year with a 9-4 record. VSU returns three All-GSC players from 2018: Lexie Hall, Ashley Lewis, and Riley Tennant.

Lewis and Tennant led VSU in scoring last season, while Hall was a preseason all-conference selection at defender.
